Mr. Lauri Närhi brings over 20 years of experience in minerals and metallurgical technologies, and strategic business leadership.Holding a master’s degree in process metallurgy from the University of Oulu, Finland, he has built his career across international technology and engineering companies in roles spanning technology development, R&D, sales, business development, and leadership.

He serves as Vice President, Performance Solutions at Metso, and is a member of the Business Area Minerals leadership team. In his current role, Mr. Närhi leads a broad portfolio of strategic functions, such as Sales and Project Excellence and QEHS, and Metso’s flowsheet development and solution delivery capabilities. He is deeply focused on strong cross-functional collaboration, early customer engagement, and data-driven decision-making. His leadership emphasizes building bridges to ensure that Metso’s full capabilities—from flowsheet development to lifecycle value—translate into meaningful outcomes for customers.

Outside of work, Mr. Närhi is an active learner with wide-ranging interests. He enjoys exercising, outdoor life, reading, and time with his family, and is motivated by the mindset that continuous learning and improvement form the foundation for long-term success.
